Dr. Shankar K. Sridhara

Former U.S. Army Major | Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery

Dr. Shankar K. Sridhara proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Major before separating in 2016. During his military service, he practiced as an otolaryngologist (head and neck surgeon). He continues to pursue this specialty with dedication and passion.

At the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group/ Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Sridhara holds multiple leadership and clinical roles.

For Dr. Sridhara, the most important aspect of job satisfaction is being a valued member of a team, a lesson he learned in the Army and one that resonates with many military veterans. “MAPMG embraces a team approach to healthcare, where doctors can partner together and put the patient at the center,” he shares. “This approach felt natural coming from the Army and helped me tremendously in my transition and subsequent journey here.”

Doctor Farzaneh Sabi.
Dr. Farzaneh "Fazi" Sabi 

Fazi Sabi joined the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group/ Kaiser Permanente in 2006 and has held several leadership roles within the organization, including physician site leader, assistant physician in chief and associate medical director. She is currently the associate medical director for Mental Health, Marketing and Brand Strategy, Network Contracting, and Special Projects. In this role, Dr. Sabi leads the mental health operations teams, raises brand awareness and recognition of Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States as the health care leader in local and regional markets, including military and veterans’ health. Dr. Sabi’s experience leading operational teams within the organization allows her to translate and promote the Kaiser Permanente model of care as the best care in the nation.

Dr. Sabi received her Doctor of Medicine degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine.  She journeyed west for her internship and residency at the Balboa Naval Medical Center in San Diego.  Upon completion of her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, she once again came home to the east coast and served as an active-duty physician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda.  She had the honor and privilege to join her colleagues on the USNS Comfort, serving on the hospital ship supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in the Persian Gulf in 2003.
